FUTUR-ALLIA 2010

A Three-day Forum:

The 15th edition of Futurallia will take place over three days, from the evening of Wednesday, April 28^th to the morning of Saturday, May 1^st, 2010.

France in Europe:

France is a Western European country. It shares a border with several other European countries: Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. It is composed of 22 regions, 96 metropolitan departments, and four overseas departments (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana and Reunion).

The Region of Poitou-Charentes.

Located in the centre-west region of metropolitan France, Poitou-Charentes consists of four departments: Charente, Charente-Maritime, Deux-Sèvres and Vienne. Its capital is Poitiers and its inhabitants are known as the Picto-Charentais. The region has just under 2 million inhabitants spread over nearly 26 000 km². Its western edge overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

The Department of La Vienne

At the crossroads between Northern and Southern Europe, the department of La Vienne is well situated geographically. Served by the A10 Motorway and the TGV (high-speed train), it is but a few steps from the large French cities and the major European capitals. La Vienne benefits from a broad diversity of economic activities, such as the automobile industry, aerospace, biotechnology, agri-food and information and communication technologies. A department of a manageable size (415 000 inhabitants), it combines economic dynamism with a comfortable pace of life.

Futuroscope Technopole

The Convention Center at the Futuroscope Technopole will host the business meetings. A symbol of the plurality and the dynamism of business activity in La Vienne, the Technopole is situated on a 200 hectare zone:

• Futuroscope Park (www.futuroscope.com): an entertainment theme park in France, oriented towards image and communication
• 500 companies of 150 are specialized in new technologies, customer relationship and e-business
• Some 700 researchers and 2,000 students for a total of 7,600 people employed on site
• More than 100,000 convention participants every year

The Convention Center

The forum will take place at the Convention Center, located at the Futuroscope Technopole. It features:

• 8,000 m² of available space 
• An area dedicated to individual appointments with 400 tables
• 3 amphitheatres from 150 to 1150 seats
• 17 meeting rooms
• 1 media room
• 1 business centre

Chasseneuil-du-Poitou et Jaunay-Clan

With the Futuroscope Park in the public eyes since it opened in 1987, the towns of Jaunay-Clan and Chasseneuil-du-Poitou have received more than 30 million visitors who have used the opportunity to discover other aspects of the region. Between tradition and modernity, the tourism reputation of these towns is not defined solely by the theme park.

Poitiers

With 25,000 students and a total population of 130,000 habitants, Poitiers is at the heart of a veritable economic and cultural dynamism. With a rich historical heritage, Poitiers, once called “the city of a hundred bell-towers”, is home to almost 80 designated monuments: roman churches, medieval streets, contemporary architecture… Each period has left its imprint.
